Dear Parents and Guardians, The District IV Large Ensemble Festival is on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Zachary High School. The students will be missing 3rd and 4th block for this. The festival is an opportunity for the band to perform three prepared pieces and sight-reading in front of a panel of judges to receive assessment and feedback. The highest rating a band can receive from a judge is a “1” or “Superior”. Receiving this rating from the entire panel of judges is called a “Sweepstakes” and qualifies the band for State Festival! The students have been working extremely hard to prepare for this event so we are looking forward to a great field trip. The schedule for the day is as follows: *Wear maroon band polo, black pants with belt loops, black belt, black tall socks, black shoes to school (no joggers, leggings, or tall boots) 10:50 a.m. (3rd block) Report directly to cafeteria for lunch as a group 11:15 a.m. Load busses and trailer. Bring all personal belongings on bus, you will not return to school. 12:30 p.m. Arrive at Zachary High School 1:00 p.m. Warm-Up 1:25 p.m. Performance (open performance, spectators invited!) 1:50 p.m. Sight-Reading (closed to spectators) 4:00 p.m. Arrive at Premier Lanes 5:30 p.m. (or before) Parent Pick-up at Premier Lanes There is no cost for this field trip, it has been covered by the fundraised monies from the World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser. Included for all students is the bowling session, arcade allotment, and pizza. Please bring extra money if you are interested in extra snacks or arcade. Please indicate on the permission form if you are available to chaperone and if someone else other than a parent is picking up your child!
