2019-2020 Goodbyes & Slideshow

It was so great to see so many students today in our final Zoom.  Unfortunately Zoom has a 100 person limit (that I wasn't aware of) so I know some had trouble getting in.  The link to the slide show is included below.  I also added some moments from the Zoom meeting at the very end!

• GRADES
  ​I have entered all grades.  Please let me know if you see any errors ASAP so I can get them corrected before Sunday.  If your grade is lower in Q4 than Q1-3, you will receive the average of Q1-3 only.

• ELECTIVE REQUEST
  Students should fill out their Elective Request ASAP if they have not already.  More information about being in the band in 7th & 8th grade can be found on our website.  Please e-mail if you have any questions or concerns! 

• INCOMING 5TH GRADERS
  ​​Let's get those 5th graders excited about being a part of our band family!  Let your friends know that they can sign up now to "Be a Part of the Band".

• SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENTS 
  All school-owned instruments should be returned when you return your chromebook UNLESS you are continuing in band at CMS next year, then you can keep it over the summer!

• RENTALS FROM MUSIC & ARTS/VERITAS
  For those staying in band, keep your instrument over the summer as returning it will void your rent-to-own agreements.  If you are not staying in the band and would like to return your instrument, bring it directly to the store.

• COMMUNICATION
  ​​Be sure to keep in touch using the Band Website and graduate to next year's Remind!  Students should have this on their phones as well, not just parents!

• KEEP PRACTICING!  
  Don't stop the music just because summer is here!  Use our band website as a resource and let me know if you need help finding some fun music to play over the summer.  I recommend you start looking at the Football Music!

• DONATE  ​
  ​The best way to show your appreciation for a great school year and band experience is to DONATE if you are able!  Not having our fundraiser this year hurt.  So far we've raised $860 through our online donations, thank you!  Help us to reach our goal of at least $3,000 so we take care of some school instrument repairs and cleanings over the summer and have the funds necessary to continue hiring our music and percussion instructor at the beginning of the school year! 

    Well, my 13th year of teaching [in person] ended on Friday, March 13th.  That day was such an incredible experience at District Festival as both the 7th and 8th grade bands played flawless performances.  But I guess it really is an unlucky number!  It has been quite a ride of emotions since then!  Through it all, our students have always remained the highest examples of what it means to be a part of a band family that values Pride, Discipline, and Teamwork.  You have accomplished and overcome so much this year!  I can't wait until we all can meet together again in our band room and make music TOGETHER.
