District Honor Band Audition Registration 2021-2022

7th & 8th Grade Band students are encouraged to audition for the District IV Middle School Honor Bands, which rehearse and perform the weekend of January 13-15, 2022 at Southeastern University in Hammond.  The Mustangs who have been selected in the past have had an unforgettable experience participating in a fun trip, performing new and challenging music, meeting other musicians from schools in the Greater Baton Rouge area, and learning from an accomplished band director.  Earning membership in these prestigious groups is a great addition to any young musician’s resume.  CMS has continued to have some of the highest number of students gaining membership into the ensembles and we hope to keep this record going!

A note about getting to Denham Springs Junior High:
There is a parade going on in Denham that weekend, so please avoid Range Ave.!  Check out the instructions below!

1. Auditions are at Denham Springs Junior High School, 401 Hatchel Lane.
2. There is a Christmas parade the same afternoon as auditions. It should not impact the audition​ ​process in any way as long as we avoid travelling on Range Ave. Please follow the map and/or​ ​the written directions.
   • Exit I-12 at Exit 10 - Range Avenue; head North
   • Take an immediate right onto Rushing Rd.
   • At the end of Rushing Road take a left onto Pete’s Hwy
   • Take Pete’s Hwy across Florida Blvd and it changes name to Hatchel Ln
   • Denham Springs Junior HIgh School is on the left shortly after the railroad crossing.
   • Once you arrive on campus there will be lots of signage to help you navigate the campus.
