LSU Junior Oaks Band Festival
LSU is hosting a band camp - Junior Oaks Band Festival - February 8-10, designed for middle school band students in the 7th and 8th grades.
The students will rehearse great music in full band rehearsals, receive group lessons on their instrument, and have the exciting opportunity to engage with the Louisiana State Symphonic Winds in an interactive rehearsal. The final concert is on Saturday afternoon that will be free and open to the public.
The cost for the weekend (Feb. 8th – Feb. 10th) is $75, which includes:
• All rehearsals and classes
• Concert Performance in the state-of-the-art LSU Union Theater
• Group masterclass on your specific instrument
• Interactive experience with the LSU Symphonic Winds Concert
• Lunch and Dinner on Friday
• Lunch on Saturday
• Official camp T-Shirt

All Applications are due by Tuesday, January 31st. Students will be notified of selection no later than February 2nd. Selection is based on instrumentation and availability, so it is highly recommended to register as soon as possible.

Will chaperones need to be present throughout the event?
o No, all students will be supervised by Junior Oaks staff and personnel.
Will I need money throughout the event?
o All food and meals will be provided so students will not need to bring any additional money.
My parent just registered and paid for me to attend. I received the email stating I am participating in the event, what do I do now?

So there are auditions? What if I don’t make it?
o Every student accepted into Junior Oaks will participate in an ensemble. The auditions are to help determine which ensemble is more suitable for you.

Location – EAHS *New* Cafetorium
This concert will feature each band performing their selections for District Festival. We have invited area band directors to come and give us feedback so we can continue to prepare for our District Festival Performances which will be March 8-9 at Zachary High School. We are excited to be sharing this performance with two of the EAHS Concert Bands. This will be a great opportunity for us to hear these bands in concert! All students are expected to stay for the entire performance. The concert should be done no later than 8:00 pm.
Please remember that all performances mandatory and count as a grade.
