The District IV Large Ensemble Festival is at Zachary High School. The festival is an opportunity for the band to perform three prepared pieces and sight-reading in front of a panel of judges to receive assessment and feedback. The highest rating a band can receive from a judge is a “1” or “Superior”. Receiving this rating from the entire panel of judges is called a “Sweepstakes”. The students have been working extremely hard to prepare for this event so we are looking forward to a great field trip. The schedule for the day is as follows:
*Wear maroon band polo, black pants with belt loops, black belt, black tall socks, all black shoes to school (no joggers, leggings, or tall boots)
Thursday, March 16
7:10 a.m. Report to the band room as soon as you arrive to school, in band uniform
*Please plan to have breakfast at home
9:15 a.m. Arrive at Zachary High School
9:25 a.m. Warm-up
9:50 a.m. Performance
10:15 a.m. Sight-reading
10:45 a.m. Leave Zachary High School
12:00 p.m. Arrive at CMS, pizza will be provided for the students
You will be attending 4th block. Please plan to have your materials for this class.
Friday, March 17
11:00 a.m. We will call you to have lunch early in the cafeteria.
11:30 a.m. Leave CMS for Zachary High School
1:10 p.m. Warm-up
1:35 p.m. Perform
2:00 p.m. Sight-reading
2:30 p.m. Leave Zachary High School
4:00 p.m. Arrive at CMS
You will be attending 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd block. Please plan to have your materials for these classes.
